Tracey Briggs

Development Communications Specialist

Tracey Briggs joined Blue Ridge Public Radio in January 2026 in a new role to help the organization boost fundraising following the loss of federal funding. She came to BPR from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, where she was director of communications and external affairs.

Prior to her work at CPB, Tracey worked at the Graduate Management Admission Council, where she directed media relations, edited internationally distributed publications and led communications efforts for the launch of the Integrated Reasoning section of the GMAT exam.

Tracey started her career as a journalist at the Reno Gazette-Journal and the USA TODAY Life section, where she held a variety of roles including coordinator of the All-USA Academic and Teacher Team recognition programs. She discovered Asheville on a reporting trip in 2007 and started plotting to relocate, finally moving to Western North Carolina in 2023.
