This fall drive, help BPR start the fiscal year off right!

Sustain the Future

BPR

BPR’s Fall Fund Drive is here, and we’re going for $80,000 by Friday, Oct. 9.

Two years after Hurricane Helene and one year after federal funding ended, BPR is building a stronger future powered by our community. Your support keeps independent local journalism, trusted information, music and cultural programming on the air.
And we’re putting your support to work where it matters. Later this month, BPR News reporter Gerard Albert III will report on how changes in federal policy are shaping Western North Carolina’s Helene recovery, including debris removal, home buyouts and congressional funding. The three-part series is part of a yearlong partnership with the FRONTLINE Local Journalism Initiative. This is just one of the many news packages our listeners make happen.

A piece of WNC, made from Helene’s legacy

During this drive, we’re offering a limited-edition BPR thank-you gift with a story only Western North Carolina could tell.

Made from White Ash timber salvaged from Hurricane Helene, this BPR-branded bottle opener magnet was crafted by Asheville artist Mickey Strivelli for BPR through Echoes of the Forest, a nonprofit that transforms fallen Helene timber into public art and supports local livelihoods. This small piece of WNC history was thoughtfully made from trees that witnessed the storm and are now being given a second life.

Donate $120 or more during the Fall Drive, or increase your monthly Sustaining gift by any amount, and you can opt in to receive this one-of-a-kind thank-you gift.

Your support keeps BPR strong. This keeps a piece of WNC close to home.

Make your contribution today to support independent local storytelling and take home a tangible piece of our region's history!
