“I am excited to be in the community of Franklin and look forward to caring for the people of this area in my new role at Angel Medical Center. I hope to meet many of you in the coming months,” said Kendall in a press release.

Kendall succeeds Karen Gorby, who retired as CEO/CNO after serving in the position since February 2016. During that time, Gorby saw the sale of Angel Medical Center to Mission Health System in 2017, as well as, the sale of Mission Health to HCA Healthcare in 2019.

Right now, HCA is in the process of constructing a new Angel Medical Center facility. The hospital is expected to be finished in fall 2022.

Kendall most recently held the position of CEO at Andalusia Health, LifePoint Healthcare in Alabama. The hospital is a 113-bed acute care facility.

Kendall earned a master’s degree in Business Administration, Nursing, and Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix and got his bachelors of science in Nursing from Western Carolina University.
