CEO/CNO Karen Gorby announces her retirement after four decades in health.

Gorby’s career in healthcare  has spanned four decades, according to an announcement from Dr. Timothy Layman, director of Hospital Clinical Operations.

Layman will be the interim CEO/CNO at Angel Medical Center until a new CEO is chosen.

Gorby served as CEO/CNO since February 2016. She was in charge of the hospital in 2017 when Angel was purchased by Mission Hospital. Then she stayed onboard in 2019 as Mission Health System was purchased by HCA Healthcare.

Layman lists her accomplishments as a prioritization of hiring clinical staff, growing hospital services, and leading the construction of the new Angel Medical Center facility.

The new Franklin hospital is expected to be completed in the fall of 2022.
