(6/4 1:30 p.m.) Haywood County Health and Human Services have received notice of another COVID-19 death, bringing the total number to 100 deaths.

This individual was between the ages of 60-65 and died at Mission Hospital. COVID-19, along with acute hypoxemic respiratory failure, was listed as an underlying cause of death (disease or injury that initiated the events resulting in death.

(6/4 12:30 p.m.) North Carolina has reported 1,004,669 confirmed cases of COVID-19, an increase of 680 cases from the day before.  613 are currently hospitalized statewide, no change from the day before.  13,151 have died of COVID-19 statewide, an increase of 21 from the day before.  In the 13 North Carolina counties in Blue Ridge Public Radio's listening area, there are 51,897 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 889 deaths. That's an increase of 28 cases and 0 deaths from the day before.

(6/4 11:00 a.m) Eight people have tested positive for COVID-19 associated with the Graham County Jail, according to the Graham County Health Department. The health department says control measures are in place to control the outbreak.

(6/3 12:30 p.m.) North Carolina has reported 1,003,989 confirmed cases of COVID-19, an increase of 481 cases from the day before.  613 are currently hospitalized statewide, an increase of 3 from the day before.  13,130 have died of COVID-19 statewide, an increase of 20 from the day before.  In the 13 North Carolina counties in Blue Ridge Public Radio's listening area, there are 51,869 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 889 deaths. That's an increase of 15 cases and 0 deaths from the day before.

(6/2 12:30 p.m.) North Carolina has reported 1,003,508 confirmed cases of COVID-19, an increase of 265 cases from the day before.  610 are currently hospitalized statewide, an increase of 8 from the day before.  13,110 have died of COVID-19 statewide, an increase of 9 from the day before.  In the 13 North Carolina counties in Blue Ridge Public Radio's listening area, there are 51,854 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 889 deaths. That's an increase of 9 cases and 0 deaths from the day before.

(6/1 12:30 p.m.) North Carolina has reported 1,003,243 confirmed cases of COVID-19, an increase of 2,089 cases from Friday.  602 are currently hospitalized statewide, a decrease of 92 from the Friday.  13,101 have died of COVID-19 statewide, an increase of 23 from the Friday.  In the 13 North Carolina counties in Blue Ridge Public Radio's listening area, there are 51,845 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 889 deaths. That's an increase of 39 cases and 0 deaths from Friday.
