Coronavirus: Where To Get Tested In WNC

BPR News
Cars line up for COVID-19 screening on the UNCA campus.

Should I get tested? Local health officials are recommending people who are not critically ill call their primary care provider, an urgent care center or local health department to be screened over the phone.   Many local providers are able to order a COVID-19 test, but health officials stress it is important to call first.

Here are some of the testing sites open in WNC:

Buncombe County Health Department

Buncombe County Health and Human Services  has suspendeddrive through COVID-19 until further notice so health officials can focus on mitigation efforts.  You can find out more at www.buncombecounty.org/bcready.

Henderson County Health Department

Pardee UNC Health Care, Henderson County Government, Department of Public Health, and Emergency Management have suspended the drive-through COVID-19 screening site on the campus of Blue Ridge Community College: . Effective Friday, March 20, the site will be closed and will reopen once additional test kits are available. We ask for patience as we work with our suppliers to obtain additional test kits. Patients experiencing symptoms of cough, shortness of breath and fever greater than 100 degrees F, should continue to call the Pardee COVID-19 Helpline at 828-694-8048 to determine if they meet criteria for screening.

  • Please call first before showing up. The Pardee COVID-19 Helpline (828-694-8048) is open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
  • AdventHealth Hendersonville has opened a testing site for patients to drive-up for COVID-19 testing. This is a resource for patients who have a referral for a test from an AdventHealth physician or who have been referred after calling the AdventHealth Triage Nurse Hotline, 828-681-2300.
  • AdventHealth Hendersonville COVID-19 Testing Location: 50 Hospital Drive, Hendersonville
