Tuesday March 3rd is primary election day in North Carolina. Voters will decide party nominees for elected positions at the federal, state, and local levels. Polls will be open Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Blue Ridge Public Radio will air NPR's live special coverage of the Super Tuesday primaries (which include North Carolina's) starting at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. Local updates from the BPR news team on results in Western North Carolina will occur during the live special coverage. Listeners will also be able to check election results in real-time Tuesday evening on the BPR website. Full team coverage of the local results will also be heard Wednesday morning during Morning Edition.
The primaries for the open seat in the 11th Congressional District headline the races that will be decided Tuesday evening in Western North Carolina. There are also five seats in the region's delegation in the North Carolina General Assembly that are open also.
