The Adoption Option Expo takes place Saturday (11/14/15) afternoon from 1-4 at Ira B. Jones Elementary School in Asheville. The Expo is an opportunity for those who have never considered or are well on their way to adopting a child or becoming a foster parent. Trish and Steph Hickling-Beckman were married in Massachusetts. Upon their return to Western North Carolina they became foster parents to a one year old. Three years later barriers to legal adoption by same couples disappeared and their foster child Nyzaya became their son. The family spoke with David Hurand.
