Brevard Music Center (BMC) and Blue Ridge Public Radio (BPR) are partnering on a live broadcast of “Opening Night: Carmina Burana,” airing at 7 PM, Friday, June 23, from Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium on the BMC campus.
BPR's Anastasia Marie hosts, bringing you insider interviews and music selections beginning at 7 PM, and the concert starting around 7:30 PM, on BPR Classic. Find your closest BPR Classic frequency here or stream the performance at bpr.org.
BMC favorite Maestra JoAnn Falletta will be Principal Guest Conductor for this performance of Carl Orff’s epic cantata with the BMC Orchestra and Greenville Chorale.
The performance opens BMC's core symphonic programming for the 2023 Summer Festival Season and follows last year’s first live broadcast from its campus in more than a decade.
BPR and BMC will also partner on an additional live broadcast at 3 PM, Sunday, August 6 for the “Season Finale: Verdi Requiem” performance, presented by the BMC Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Artistic Director Keith Lockhart.
