Whether your gathering is big or small, at home or on the road – join BPR for annual favorites this Thanksgiving holiday. Don’t miss recipe hacks, reassurances and riveting conversations on Turkey Confidential from The Splendid Table. Francis Lam takes calls and comes to the rescue of Thanksgiving cooks, kitchen helpers, and dinner guests during the biggest cooking day of the year. Guests include:

  • Claire Saffitz, YouTube star and author of Dessert Person: Recipes and Guidance for Baking with Confidence: A Baking Book.
  • Rick Martinez cohost of the Borderline Salty podcast and author of Mi Cocina, Recipes and Rapture from My Kitchen in Mexico.
  • Jesse Sparks, host of The One Recipe and Senior Editor at Eater

Thanksgiving is a holiday of connection and warmth, which is the essence of Giving Thanks – two hours of music and storytelling to celebrate our connections with family and friends. This year's special guests include Ada Limon, the new Poet Laureate of the US (and host of The Slowdown). She joins our Thanksgiving table to read her poems and talk about how poetry amplifies gratitude. We’ll also revisit other US Poets Laureate who have been guests on Giving Thanks, including Billy Collins, Rita Dove, and Ted Kooser.

On Friday, we bring you a special documentary: Standing in Two Worlds: Native American College Diaries. Native American students are just a tiny fraction of all the college students in the United States. And each student comes with different histories, confronting an education system once used to erase their languages and cultures. Produced by APM, four Indigenous college students share how they are using higher education to strengthen ties to their Native roots and support their people.
