Monday - 12/2

10 am: ETERNAL ECHOES OF HANUKKAH
Host James David Jacobs joins together with violinist Itzhak Perlman and and the New England Conservatory’s Hankus Netsky, a pioneer in the revival of klezmer music, to explore the musical common ground of Jewish sacred music from diverse cultures. Featuring performances by Itzhak Perlman in new, unique arrangements by Netsky, the director of NEC’s acclaimed Contemporary Improvisation department and the founder of the world -renowned Klezmer Conservatory Band.

11 am: ADVENT VOICES
A one hour special of contemplative music for the season, hosted by Lynne Warfel.

Wednesday - 12/11

10 am: WELCOME CHRISTMAS  
An hour of joyful holiday music featuring the Minneapolis-based chorus, VocalEssence, directed by Philip Brunelle  and hosted for the fifteenth year by John Birge.  Gramophone magazine called VocalEssence “excellent and vibrant.” NEA Chairman Dana Gioia named them “one of the irreplaceable music ensembles of our time.”

Michelle Keenan was the Associate Director of Development at Blue Ridge Public Radio. She began volunteering for the station in 1996 and has been a full-time staff member since 1998.
