National Day of Listening: Everyone has a story to tell

November 27, 2015 marks the 7th National Day of Listening. The Day of Listening is a national holiday started by StoryCorps in 2008. On the day after Thanksgiving, StoryCorps asks everyone to take a few minutes to record an interview with a loved one.

Everyone has a story to tell. And now it's easier than ever to collect and preserve the stories of your family, friends, and colleagues with the new StoryCorps app for iPhone or AndroidHowever you choose to record your conversation, be sure to refer to the StoryCorps’ Do-It-Yourself Instruction Guide.

Celebrating the National Day of Listeningprovides a noncommercial alternative to “Black Friday” shopping sprees. Your recording could be the least expensive but most meaningful gift you can give this holiday season. Tens of thousands of Americans have participated in the National Day of Listening, and educators and community organizations have incorporated StoryCorps’ interviewing techniques into their programs.

That's the National Day of Listening, November 27th, 2015. Ask great questions. Share great stories. Learn more.
