What is your top priority if elected?

Greater community involvement with our schools in order to lift ALL students up, making our schools the best in the state along with making sure every dollar spent is reflected in a positive classroom experience.

What do you wish the community knew about this office?

That if the office is successfully executed there is tremendous opportunity for positive impact on our county's children, but that opportunity is based on deep knowledge of how classrooms operate and that knowledge can only come from a veteran teacher. It's easy to say "experience counts" but I believe that the right kind of experience matters and even more importantly, is that "action and a sense of urgency counts.

What is one thing that you want to say to voters?

I'm a 30-year veteran of Macon County Schools and have been a major advocate for our students, teachers, parents, and community members at the local and state level. Voters can find out more about my positions and history of advocacy at JohndeVille.com.

To ensure that our students are given EVERY opportunity to excel and to be very wise with the budget we are given

What do you wish the community knew about this office?

I know many people think being an elected official is done for the salary. This particular position pays very little. If someone is doing it for the money or power, they’re in it for the wrong reason. It needs to be from the heart because it is about the children

What is one thing that you want to say to voters?

I am a hard worker, a good listener, and very dedicated. I will work tirelessly to provide our students, staff and administrators with the best possible resources to give them every opportunity to succeed. I would greatly appreciate your support and vote!!
