Mission Hospital Nurses' Union Announces Tentative Deal With HCA

Registered nurses at Mission Hospital in Asheville have announced a tentative agreement on a contract with HCA. The deal will be shared with the nurses' union this week.  The negotiating team is recommending for the nurses to approve the deal.  Details about the contract will be shared after the vote. Mission Hospital nurses joined National Nurses Unitedin September 2020.

“We are extremely pleased to have a tentative agreement that we believe will be a huge step forward for nurses, patients, and our entire community,” said nurse negotiator Sue Fischer, registerd nurse in a press release.

Almost 2,000 registered nurses at Mission are represented by the National Nurses Organizing Committee (NNOC)-North Carolina, an affiliate of National Nurses United (NNU).  They are part of the 12,000 HCA registered nurses who are NNU members at 20 HCA hospitals from North Carolina to California.

Nurses recently picketed for the new contract in June.
