BPR Early Voting Guide For Western North Carolina

Early voting in North Carolina starts on February 13th and runs until Feburary 29th.  Same day voter registration is available each day of early voting.  Photo ID is not required to vote during the primary election.  The deadline to register to vote in order to cast a ballot on primary day March 3rd has already passed, so those who have yet to register will only be able to vote during the early voting period.

Those who register to vote with a party affiliation will receive a ballot with that party's primary candidates.  Those who register as unaffiliated can vote in the primary of their choice - Democrat, Republican, or Libertarian.

The deadline to request an absentee by mail ballot for the primary is February 25th.  No special circumstance is needed to request an absentee by mail ballot in North Carolina - a voter just needs to be registered.  That ballot must be mailed by 5 p.m. on primary day March 3rd.  For more information about absentee by mail voting, click here.
