Election 2018: Coverage From BPR As Election Day Arrives

Voters who haven't already cast their ballot during early voting will do so on Election Day Tuesday, November 6th.  Polls in North Carolina on Election Day will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.  You can find your polling place here.  Blue Ridge Public Radio will offer special coverage on Election Day starting at 7 p.m. with an extra hour of All Things Considered.  From 8 p.m. to 3 a.m., will we also bring you NPR's special coverage of election returns from across the country.  The BPR news team will also give updates on local races throughout the night, and you'll be able to track returns of all elections in North Carolina here at our website. 

All seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and the North Carolina General Assembly are on the ballot this year.  There is also one seat on the North Carolina Supreme Court on the ballot, as well numerous local offices and six proposed amendments to North Carolina's constitution.  You can catch up on all of BPR's election coverage below -

The 2018 Race That Is Getting Little Attention

Matt Bush joined Blue Ridge Public Radio as news director in August 2016. Excited at the opportunity the build up the news service for both stations as well as help launch BPR News, Matt made the jump to Western North Carolina from Washington D.C. For the 8 years prior to coming to Asheville, he worked at the NPR member station in the nation's capital as a reporter and anchor. Matt primarily covered the state of Maryland, including 6 years of covering the statehouse in Annapolis. Prior to that, he worked at WMAL in Washington and Metro Networks in Pittsburgh, the city he was born and raised in.
