We live in a divided nation, almost two-Americas, and the real divide seems to be defined geographically. Not North/South but rural/urban. This is particularly evident here in North Carolina where, traditionally, each region has different fiscal priorities and moral sensibilities. We experience the world very differently depending upon where we live. Place and politics go together and we take a closer look at that relationship.
