
The latest fundraising numbers are in for the campaigns of North Carolina’s top two races.
Those races are for governor and U.S. senator. And in both races, the Democratic challengers areoutraisingthe Republican incumbents in the second quarter.
In the race for governor, Democrat Roy Cooper raised $5.1 million. Cooper’s campaign, which just recently began running its own political ads now has well over $9 million in the bank.
Republican Pat McCrory’s campaign raised $3.2 million over the same period. And had $6.3 million in the bank through the end of June.
As for the U.S. Senate seat up for grabs, Democrat Deborah Ross has again outraised incumbent Republican Richard Burr, but Burr has raised much more overall.
Ross raised $2.1 million in the second quarter and about $4 million in total. Burr has raised nearly $9 million to date and still has nearly $7 million already in the bank.
