Henderson Co. and Hendersonville Call on Duke Energy

Commissioners and City Council members passed separate, but nearly identical resolutions urging Duke Energy to do everything possible to limit the impact of a planned 45 mile transmission line.  Twenty-five miles of the line will run through Henderson  County.  Hendersonville Mayor Barbara Volk is worried the Foothills 230 KV Transmission Line Project has the potential to adversely affect property values, the environment, and the quality of life for residents of the city and the county.  Commissioner Michael Edney agreed and both  told David Hurand they want an independent analysis of the need for the project.
