The economy is top of mind for many as the region navigates business closures, unemployment and water problems from Hurricane Helene. BPR's Laura Hackett sat down with Clark Duncan from the Asheville-Buncombe Economic Development Coalition to discuss the ins and outs of the economy right now -- and what may help the region weather these challenges.

Laura Hackett is an Edward R. Murrow award-winning reporter for Blue Ridge Public Radio. She joined the newsroom in 2023 as a Government Reporter and in 2025 moved into a new role as BPR's Helene Recovery Reporter.
