This is a developing story and will be updated.

Law enforcement officials in Greensboro issued a Blue Alert at 6:10 pm on Saturday evening to notify the public of suspects in a police shooting. The alert was cancelled at 7:52 pm.

A Blue Alert notifies public when law enforcement is searching for "violent criminals who have killed, or seriously injured an officer in the line of duty," according to the Department of Justice.

The alert, which appeared as cell phone notices and on broadcast channels, said there was an assault on a law enforcement officer in Greensboro.

The alert said authorities were looking for a Black Chevrolet Equinox with the tag KKA-4332 last seen west of Greensboro on interstate 40.
