Recently classical music host Chip Kaufmann marked a significant milestone - 35 years on the air at Blue Ridge Public Radio!
Throughout Chip’s years with BPR he has introduced thousands of listeners to classical music – some of the music is centuries old, some contemporary – all presented with the same passion, respect and enthusiasm. His dedication to the station, his intelligence and his willingness to share his love of music with listeners have made him invaluable to BPR (over the years he's even subbed in a pinch on a bluegrass program and helped hang drywall for our studios when the station first came to its home in Downtown Asheville in the mid-1980's). We love his sharp wit, kind nature, encyclopedic knowledge of film and his sincere appreciation of vintage beer and the simple things.
Bravo Chip – from your colleagues at BPR and thousands upon thousands of listeners.
Please feel free to share your congratulations with Chip at ckaufmann@bpr.org.
