The North Carolina Mountain State Fair runs through September 20th at the WNC Agricultural Center near the Asheville Regional Airport. Goombay Festival returns to downtown Asheville Friday through Sunday. The festival celebrates the music, food, and crafts of the regions African American community. Ricky Skaggs, Del McCoury Band and the Steep Canyon Rangers top the list of performers at the three day Mountain Song Fest in Brevard. There's lots do do across the region.
