Tony Kiss Weekend Update - 8/7 - 8/9

The 88th annual Mountain Dance and Folk Festival is underway in downtown Asheville. Musicians and dancers from across the region and beyond will take the stage at Diana Wortham Theater for the joyous celebration of mountain culture. Among the many performers, Laura Boosinger and Kevin Hamlin, Phil and Gaye Johnson,  Cole Mountain Cloggers, and Bailey Mountain Smooth Dancers.  Natalie Cole and Peabo Bryson perform tonight (August 7th) as the19th Annual Biltmore Concert Seriescontinues.  Sunday night (August 9th) Counting Crows perform at one of the most beautiful stage settings one can image. Also tonight, singer-song writer Jonathan Edwards performs at theAltamont in downtown Asheville.

Riverlinkcelebrates RiverFest with the Anything That Floats Parade at French Broad River Park, Saturday August 8th from 1pm-7pm.  The38th Annnual Sourwood Festival is happening this weekend (8/8-9) in Black Mountain.  The festival features music, dancing, arts and craft, entertainment for children, and of course lots of good.  It's a no alcohol event.  The Montford Park Playersperform Richard III.  The play runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for  the next four weekends. 

There are several new movies to choose from including Ricki and the Flash starring Meryl Streep, Fantastic Four, and Irrational Man, the latest from Woody Allen.
