Blue Ridge Public Radio wins four Regional Murrow Awards including Overall Excellence

RTDNA honors outstanding achievements in broadcast and digital journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards.

The Radio Television Digital News Association awarded four regional 2025 Edward R. Murrow wins to Blue Ridge Public Radio.

The awards are among the most prestigious in broadcast and digital news. Award recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Murrow set as a standard for the profession of broadcast and digital journalism.

"It is especially meaningful for the team to be recognized for their hard work in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene," BPR News Director Laura Lee said. "We are honored to receive these awards, particularly the Overall Excellence for our division."

As a regional winner, BPR will automatically advance to the National Murrow Awards competition.

“Sold on a Promise” is a special two-part investigative series jointly produced by BPR News, WFDD and CityView that explores the failed attempts of public-private partnerships to provide more than 500 units for homeless people in North Carolina.
