NC Senate District 47 covers Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Caldwell, Madison, Mitchell, Watauga, Yancey and a corner of Haywood. The district was redrawn in 2022 to include Canton.
The line runs “through the parking lot of Haywood Regional Medical Center’s fitness center, BPR previously reported.

It lists his top priorities as “end critical race theory in schools,” “defend the Second Amendment,” lower taxes and protect elections. Hise did not respond to inquiries to fill out BPR’s survey.
