BPR presents Brevard Music Center's Summer Festival opening concert live on BPR Classic

BPR is proud to continue its tradition of broadcasting the opening and closing performances of the Brevard Music Center's Summer Festival on BPR Classic.
This year Brevard Music Center celebrates its 90th anniversary with more than 80 concerts featuring symphony, opera, jazz and more.

Opening Night
The season opens Friday, June 26, as Artistic Director Keith Lockhart leads the Brevard Music Center Orchestra on Opening Night, featuring Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony and pianist Garrick Ohlsson performing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2. The work’s lyricism and sweep set the tone for a summer of ambitious programming and artistic collaboration.

Season Finale
The season concludes Sunday, August 2, with a defining moment of the anniversary year as cellist Yo-Yo Ma appears as the 2026 Legendary Artist, performing Dvořák’s Cello Concerto with Lockhart and the Brevard Music Center Orchestra. Ma's appearance serves as both a celebration of Brevard’s history and a reaffirmation of its enduring artistic values.
