BPR

After more than three decades of entertaining and educating listeners, Blue Ridge Public Radio classical music host Chip Kaufmann is retiring.   We've compiled a few highlights of his wonderful career here.

Blue Ridge Public Radio classical music host Chip Kaufmann announced that he will retire later this year, after nearly 36 years of service to the station. Kaufmann started as a volunteer with the then 10-watt WUNF (on the UNCA campus) in the summer of 1983. His career as a classical music host happened purely by happenstance, when station staff found out he had a classical music collection.

Recently classical music host Chip Kaufmann marked a significant milestone - 35 years on the air at Blue Ridge Public Radio!

Mountain Xpress film critic Ken Hanke passed away this week at the age of 61. WCQS classical music host (and fellow film critic) Chip Kaufmann will pay tribute to Hanke this morning from 11 to 12.

WCQS classical music host Chip Kaufmann celebrates his 30th year with the station November 21st.
