Congressman Meadows Tweets He's Voting No On ACA Repeal

Mar 22, 2017

House Republicans in D.C. are expected to vote tomorrow/today/Thursday on the proposed bill that would repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, commonly referred to as ‘Obamacare.’  One Congressman who won’t be voting in favor of the measure is Mark Meadows.  The Republican, who represents nearly all of Western North Carolina and chairs the hardline conservative ‘Freedom Caucus’, announced his vote in a tweet Wednesday afternoon.  Asheville Citizen-Times political reporter Mark Barrett joined BPR’s Matt Bush to discuss the significance of Meadows decision (he was 'called out' by President Trump on Tuesday for his lack of support for the bill), as well as what impact the Republican healthcare bill would have on Western North Carolina if passed.
