Ahead of North Carolina's March 3rd primary election, Blue Ridge Public Radio will hold candidate forums for three different races. The forums will be broadcast live on the station's Facebook page.
The audio for each forum will be posted on the station's website within a few days of the forum. The forums for the Democratic and Republican candidates for North Carolina's 11th Congressional District will also be aired on the station closer to the primary, with the exact date to be announced later.
The schedule for the forums are -
Wednesday February 5th at noon - Democratic candidates for North Carolina State Senate District 49
Thursday February 6th at noon - Democratic candidates for North Carolina 11th Congressional District
Friday February 7th at 10 a.m. and noon - Republican candidates for North Carolina 11th Congressional District (because of studio size limitations, we held two forums which can be watched here and here)
BPR News director Matt Bush will moderate the forums. The deadline to register to vote on primary day is February 7th. Early voting starts on February 13th and runs until the 29th. Same day registration is available each day during early voting. Those seeking to vote on primary day March 3rd must register to vote by February 7th. The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is February 25th. Voters will not need photo ID to vote in the primary election following a court ruling.
