One of the early front runners in the bid for the Democratic presidential primary vote is stopping in Asheville on Fri.
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is slated to appear at Salvage Station for a rally at 12pm.
The venue in the River Arts District holds about 2,500 people. In a post on social media, Salvage Station is urging attendees to walk, rideshare, or bike, due to limited parking.
Buncombe County was friendly to Sanders in 2016 -- he garnered 62 percent of the vote in the Democratic primary, almost double of Hillary Clinton’s 35 percent.
The rally is free, but Sanders’ campaign recommends registering online beforehand.
