Mark joined BPR in December 2021, serving on a full-time interim basis while a national search is underway for BPR’S new General Manager and CEO.
Mark recently retired as the President & CEO of Maine Public Television & Radio, was the CEO of Vermont Public Radio, and served as the Executive Director of the NPR Foundation. With more than 25 years of public broadcasting CEO experience, Mark has advised numerous public media nonprofits like BPR on organizational leadership, philanthropic support, and strategic planning.
Mark received his BA degree from Dordt College in Iowa, where he also began his broadcasting career at the campus radio station.
He has five adult children and a number of grandchildren. Mark serves on several nonprofit boards, is a serious amateur photographer, and enjoys cycling the backroads and coves on the coast of Maine from his home in Brunswick.
