Ashleigh joined BPR in February 2019 as the station’s first Director of Development, where she leads an expanded fundraising team that comprises membership, major gifts, and planned giving. She has more than a decade of experience in nonprofit media, working first in fundraising at two venerable policy magazines in Washington, DC: The American Prospect and the Washington Monthly. She then moved west to join Youth Radio (recently re-branded as YR Media), where she led fund development. At YR, Ashleigh worked closely on the team that drove the organization’s most recent strategic growth plan, which led to a multi-million dollar annual budget increase two years in.
Ashleigh received her degree in English from the University of Iowa, where she focused on indigenous women’s poetry. Recently relocated from Oakland, CA, she is proud to call Asheville her new home, and is eager to explore the culture, nature, and perspectives the region has to offer.
