This September, Blue Ridge Public Radio will be adding four shows to its program schedule, while moving five others to both of its channels so they can be heard by all of Western North Carolina.
Earlier this summer, BPR started airing programming produced from its studios Friday morning at 9 on both of its channels, BPR Classic and BPR News (find frequencies for both stations here, and both can also be listened to at BPR.org, with the BPR mobile app, or on your smart speaker). Each week, listeners will hear a new episode of The Waters & Harvey Show, Going Deep: Sports in the 21st Century, or BPR News Presents. Encore broadcasts occur Saturday afternoons at 3 on both channels, and episodes of each program can be heard anytime with the free BPR mobile app or through Apple Podcasts or Google Podcasts.
World Cafe
World Cafejoins the Blue Ridge Public Radio schedule starting September 19th. It will air Saturday evenings from 6 to 8 on BPR Classic. Hosted and produced by Raina Douris in Philadelphia at WXPN, World Cafe presents interviews and performances with today's essential and emerging artists. Discover great music, but new and old, on public radio's premier music program.
World Cafe replaces Live From Here on the BPR programming schedule. Earlier this year, the producers of Live From Here decided to end production of the show due to the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on live events. The show lives on on its YouTube channel and its website LiveFromHere.org.
The Spanish Hour
Starting September 18th, The Spanish Hour with Candice Agree can be heard Friday evenings at 7 on BPR Classic. The Spanish Hour invites everyone who has an interest in, a fascination of, and a love for the cultural life of Spain and the Spanish-speaking world to be entertained, enriched, and informed by this unique classical music program. Along with recorded performances of great works by great artists, The Spanish Hour also presents recordings of live concerts featuring Iberian and Latin American composers, conductors, and performers.
Live From The Fur Peace Ranch
Starting September 20th, Live From The Fur Peace Ranch can be heard Sunday evenings at 9 on BPR Classic. Host Jorma Kaukonen introduces each program's featured artist in a series of concerts recorded at the Fur Peace Ranch guitar camp in Ohio. The show brings listeners an eclectic blend of performances including blues, folk, Americana, rock, bluegrass, and jazz.
Folk Alley
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, BPR had to close its studios to all but a handful of essential staff for safety reasons. That meant two live weekend music shows had to go on hiatus until our studios can be safely reopened to all staff. Starting September 20th, listeners on Sunday evenings from 7 to 9 on BPR Classic will hear Folk Alley in place of BPR's longest-running program Country Roots With Wayne Erbsen. Folk Alley host Elena See presents an exciting, intelligent, and eclectic mix of the best traditional folk, Americana, contemporary singer/songwriters, and roots music. Listeners will also hear exclusive in-studio Folk Alley Sessions and live concert recordings. Country Roots With Wayne Erbsen will return once BPR's studios are reopened in the coming months.
Round Midnight with host Jamal Jabali will also return Saturday evenings at 10 on BPR Classic once BPR's studios reopen.

Latino USA
Starting Sunday September 20th, Latino USA can be heard on both of Blue Ridge Public Radio's channels. Hosted by award-winning journalist, news anchor and author Maria Hinojosa, Latino USA specializes in news, culture and storytelling that creates a space where Latino Americans hear their experiences reflected, and where non-Latinos can join the conversations happening in Latino communities.
Climate One
Starting September 19th, Climate One is returning to Blue Ridge Public Radio and will air on both of our channels. The show is a thriving leadership dialogue on energy, the economy and the environment. It brings together top thinkers and doers from business, government, academia and advocacy groups to advance the discussion about a clean energy future.
Says You
Starting September 20th, Says You will air on both of BPR's channels Sunday afternoons at 1. Take one word, add two teams, create three definitions and throw in a live audience. That’s Says You – the last word in radio quiz shows since 1996. If you like Scrabble, crosswords, anagrams, and Jeopardy! — you’ll love Says You!
Ask Me Another
Starting September 20th, Ask Me Another moves to Sunday afternoons at 2 on both of BPR's channels. Packed with trivia, comedy and celebrity guests, Ask Me Another is like an amusement park for your brain. Host Ophira Eisenberg and musician Jonathan Coulton take brilliant contestants on a roller coaster that'll make you laugh and scream (out the answers).
The Moth Radio Hour
Starting September 20th, The Moth Radio Hour will be heard on both of BPR's channels Sunday evenings at 6. The Moth Radio Hour features our most beloved tales and the stories behind the stories.
