Our Voice, the Buncombe County rape crisis center is celebrating its’ 40th anniversary with a special event and its’ keynote speaker is Professor of Social Policy, Law and Women’s studies at Brandeis University, Anita Hill. In 1991 Hill was a little known Washington D.C. attorney who was thrust into the spotlight during U.S Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearings for U.S. Supreme court nominee Clarence Thomas. Following the controversial hearings, Thomas was confirmed. Hill’s testimony sparked a national conversation about workplace sexual harassment. She recently spoke with David Hurand
